Meet Our Eye Doctors and Staff
Vadim Guy, OD, FAAO
Dr. Vadim Guy is a Rochester local who grew up in Greece and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Roberts Wesleyan College. He then obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For his externship, Dr. Guy trained at world renowned, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, in ocular disease including glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration. He also completed clinical rotations in binocular vision, contact lens, geriatrics, low vision, pediatrics, and primary care.
Dr. Guy completed his residency at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, studying pediatrics, binocular vision (amblyopia and strabismus), vision therapy, double vision, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. During his residency, he spent time training with the pediatric ophthalmology department at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Guy is intrigued with myopia control, nearsightedness, and Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). He is certified to work with Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthoketalogy and Myopia Control (AAOMC), where he attends conferences to expand his knowledge and learns the latest research on myopia control. He also works with “hard-to-fit” contact lenses for conditions such as Kerataconus, and specialty Scleral Contact Lenses.
Dr. Guy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a candidate for fellowship with the College of Optometry in Vision Development (COVD). He is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), New York State Optometric Association, Rochester Optometric Society, and many others.
Dr. Guy enjoys being involved and giving back. He is currently serving as the immediate past-president of the Rochester Optometric Association, a board member of Children’s Vision Coalition, and the state clinical director for Healthy Athletes with Special Olympics New York.
In addition to his professional involvement, Dr. Guy enjoys traveling and has visited numerous countries around the world providing eye care with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. He enjoys spending time with his wife and traveling. He also enjoys being with friends and family, especially his numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeremy Outinen, O.D.
Dr. Jeremy Outinen earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University. His externship training at the Malcolm Randall VA focused on primary eye care for veterans and ocular disease treatment including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
He also trained at Aker Kasten Eye Center focusing on pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgery patients. Dr. Outinen joined Family Vision Center in 2018 and has been providing primary eye care to our patients of all ages.
Ludmila, Optical Manager, New York State Licensed Optician
Ludmila began her career in optometry over 20 years ago as an optometric technician. Since then Ludmila has worked for several optical shops large and small, in New York and Florida, gaining valuable experience that she now applies at Family Vision Center. She earned an associates degree in opticianry from Hillsborough Community College, Tampa FL. Ludmila is a licensed optician in two states and a member of the Opticians Association of America (OAA). She holds the American Board of Opticianry Certification (ABOC) and the National Contact Lens Certification (NCLEC).
Valeriy, Practice Manager, New York State Licensed Optician
Valeriy is a Rochester native and brings over 10 years of management experience to our practice. Valeriy earned his Bachelor of Science from Southeastern University, Lakeland Florida. He is a Licensed Optician and enjoys assisting our patients with optical frame selections so that they can look and feel their best.
